"Bluebonnets"

The dark blue in bluebonnets,

Flow from the Master’s touch,

Gaily singing Texas sonnets,

And to us they mean so much.

Jesus said look at the flowers,

How they neither toil or spin,

Yet Solomon’s great powers,

Couldn’t match them now or then.

To equal all their beauty,

In the bar ditch and roadside,

Thanksgiving is our duty,

And much more I will confide.

If He makes the blooms so beautiful,

That are here, soon go away,

We know what’s indisputable,

Our lives will be okay.

Casting out all worry,

And the panic of this earth,

Defusing all the hurry,

And knowing what we’re worth.

With beauty He adorns us,

Supplying every need,

The Spirit often warns us,

His crop to daily seed.

Knowing these blue flowers,

Shout glory, so do we,

Through all of our life’s hours,

And to eternity.

“Now if God clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” (Matthew 6:30, NKJV)

According to Jesus, God’s adornment of nature is evidence that He will clothe and care for. us. How true! All that God has created is testimony to the Creator, and points us to trusting Him. This is especially true when life is not working out well for us. The Lord often speaks through crisis to show us our need for His grace. He doesn’t cause bad things to happen, but uses them along with Creation’s design, to draw us to Himself. Will we follow His leadership? Will we learn to live by faith?

Lord, help us to trust You, in Jesus’ name.
