"Called"
I heard the Master calling,
No question it was Him,
Asking who’ll go for us,
And just who can we send.
And when I heard Him asking,
It was hard to quite believe,
It was me that He was calling,
If only I’d receive.
Not ready and not qualified,
Was just the way I thought,
Others more experienced,
With battles won they fought.
And me, well, I’ve been up and down,
And in and out a lot,
And, yes, I do believe in grace,
No doubt it’s what I’ve got.
He does not call the qualified,
He qualifies the called,
And that is what I’m counting on,
My mind set overhauled.
So here I am, Lord, send me,
The assignment of Your will,
I trust that You can use me,
And You will lead me still.
“Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.’” (Isaiah 6:8, NLT)
It’s a wonderful thing to hear God’s call. Some people go through their whole lives and say they’ve never heard God say anything to them. I cannot help but think, how is this possible? That’s because the Lord speaks constantly and calls consistently. What will we say when we hear Him? The correct answer is “Lord, send me!” Without excuse or reservation we respond with a willing heart. The details are up to Him.
Lord, help us say yes to You, in Jesus’ name.
