"Charlie"

Charlie fought the battle well,

Then finished up the fight,

I doubt he saw it coming,

Before his soul took flight.

Tragically he left behind,

His lovely family,

And we must pray for them you know,

As for ourselves you see.

But now a great uprising,

Of courage over fear,

To stand and fight what’s evil,

Though he’s no longer here.

We’ll fight against deception,

With love speak what is true,

Never fall for satan’s lies,

Or what he says to do.

We’ll say no to immorality,

The perversions of our day,

Holiness our standard,

And what God has to say.

We’ll dethrone all idolatry,

Make Jesus Christ our King,

No matter what the sacrifice,

Serve Him in everything.

And under His authority,

We resist and make it go,

Worship in the Spirit,

Our witness for to show.

Resist all hate and violence,

Replace it with God’s love,

In Jesus’ name on purpose,

With fire from up above.

We’ll take a stand right here and now,

In God Almighty’s name,

Charlie’s in His arms above,

And we’ll never be the same.

“Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” (Romans 12:23, NLT)

Evil is real and cannot be ignored. But we are taught by scripture to overcome evil by doing good. This is a very proactive position. We resist deception and replace it with God’s truth, spoken in love. We fight against immorality and replace it with holiness of mind and body. We dethrone idolatry and replace it with Spirit and truth worship. We war against hatred and violence and replace it with God’s love. Evil may be loud but it will never have the last say. Stand up.

Lord, help us to stand up for You and everything that is true, in Jesus’ name.
