"Dream"

They said you couldn’t do it,

And explained the reasons why,

And quietly you listened,

You thought these people lie.

And so you turned to others,

To share with them your dream,

With joy, and lots of passion,

But it did not seem,

That they had any interest,

Or desire to come on board,

You began to wonder,

If any points were scored.

You tried to raise some money,

And everyone said no,

And each time they did it,

You picked a seed to sow.

Prayed, Lord, I know there’s someone,

Who thinks and dreams like me,

Please show me that person,

And who that they might be.

And finally it happened,

They heard all that you said,

Grew more and more excited,

And then your dream they fed.

By asking lots of questions,

Like have you though of this,

And before you even knew it,

Said they would be remiss,

If they didn’t help you,

And that’s just what they did,

And now you are succesful,

And able to get rid,

Of all those old, hurt feelings,

And how it made you feel,

But those you hoped would follow,

And help make your dream real.

But it is not about them,

It never really was,

it’s about your future,

And all of God’s because.

“For I know the plans I have for you…” (Jeremiah 29:11, NLT)

The Lord has a plan for all of us. Do we have any idea what it is? If we are willing, the Lord will inspire us with a dream or vision of His future for us. Without it people die, according to the Bible. Living in the inspiration of God’s vision leads us forward and adjusts our behavior in its accomplishment. It energizes us to share it with others, keep on trying when discouraged, and go forward at all costs. It fills us with purpose and enthusiasm when people don’t agree with what we’re doing or support it. Tapping into God’s plan for us is what’s life is all about.

Lord, give us a clear vision of Your plans for us, in Jesus’ name.
