"Endure"

Riots sweep and devils keep,

This world in disarray,

To kill and steal, the battle’s real,

But know that come what may,

The One inside whom they’ve defied,

Is greater, don’t you see,

Than the one we fight with all our might,

To make those devils flee.

In Jesus’ name and for His fame,

Old satan we’ll resist,

Get grace to go and always know,

By God’s power we persist.

There’s victory for you and me,

We need not tolerate,

The devil’s schemes to steal our dreams,

The Word tell us his fate,

That in the end the Lord will send,

Him down to judgment sure,

While we are raised, our God be praised,

And that’s why we endure.

“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” (1 John 4:4, NLT)

The Bible tells us that the spirit of antichrist is alive and well in the world. The devil and his minions influence and control secular culture, but we are promised the spiritual power to overcome them. This is the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us. He equips and energizes us for the spiritual battle, and if we resist the devil in this way he must flee. Be strong in the Lord, be clothed in the armor of God, and endure to the end. The war is won but there are still battles to fight!

Lord, equip us for every spiritual battle, in Jesus’ name.
