"If You Look"

If you look close you’ll see it,

With every leaf and feather,

Nature’s awesome symmetry,

In seasons’ change and weather.

To every far horizon,

And even into space,

Down to the microscopic,

It all reflects His face.

The design points to Designer,

The art to Artist sure,

The beauty and the wonder,

A witness that endures.

The skies declare His glory,

The earth and all below,

Speaks and sings Creator,

So everyone may know.

Majestic revelation,

The mountain peaks and seas,

The blazing fire of sunsets,

The whisper through the trees.

All tell the same story,

To point to God above,

To say there is a Savior,

And that His heart is love.

The hand of that Creator,

Reaches to each hungry soul,

The promise of salvation,

To cleanse and make us whole.

The One through whom it all was made,

And for His pleasure still,

Was the same who came and died,

In accordance with God’s will.

And now the circle is complete,

And all with faith may know,

The great Creator’s mercy,

His grace to fully show.

Creator God, my Savior,

With grace and symmetry,

You reveal yourself to us.

If we will only see.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” (Psalm 19:1, NIV)

The witness to the Creator God is constant. When we look up or around us, what He created shouts that He exists! Someone has said that the most uncomfortable moment for an atheist is when he sees a sunset, feels profoundly thankful, and feels he has no one to thank! God has placed eternity in our hearts, and when our hearts see clearly, we perceive the nearness of the One who made it all. The general revelation of creation leads us to the specific revelation of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Look, and you will see!

Lord, lead us to Yourself, in Jesus’ name.
