"Life"

It’s sometimes drugs or even worse,

Some just tryin’ to fill their purse,

With no thought about the hearse,

Or what their life’s about.

Searching, running everywhere,

Hurting others, hard to bear,

Truth is, Jesus sees ‘em there,

And wants to bring them out,

Of all confusion, chaos, crime,

Into a life filled all the time,

With awesome peace and joy sublime,

If they cooperate.

If they come He won’t reject,

Their cry for help He will expect,

And if sincere and with respect,

They find He is the Gate,

That opens to a brand new life,

Free of all exhausting strife,

He calls us friend and bride and wife,

We’re nevermore alone.

Abundant life He died to give,

His Spirit shows us how to live,

With a grace transformative,

Full access to His throne.

Come, join us with the Father now,

The fellowship is strong and how,

It all starts with willing vow,

To follow come what may.

Receive it and you won’t regret,

You may have His blessings yet,

Abundant life is what you’ll get,

And purpose on the way.

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10)

Jesus draws the contrast between Himself and the thief. The thief’s purpose? To steal and kill and destroy. The devil comes after everything of value to steal, kill it or destroy it altogether. He’s had centuries of practice doing these things to people’s health, marriages, children, and endeavors. We are not immune from his attacks. Jesus came to give us the opposite- a rich and satisfying life. He alone offers super-abundance, and is the only One who can actually deliver it. Don’t miss out. It’s not too good to be true.

Lord, give us abundant life, in Jesus’ name.
