"Now"

You say you will, but when,

The danger’s close, but then,

Worse than it’s ever been,

But you still say you will.

The house is burning down,

Exits can’t be found,

And panic is the sound,

But you will wait until…

The devil steals it all,

The lion roars his call,

Strong men before him fall,

The day of evil’s here.

Wake up, you righteous men,

To wait more is a sin,

The darkness floods on in,

But God’s Word makes it clear,

That greater is the One in you,

Than our opponent, this is true,

The victory, we always knew,

Is paid for by the blood.

Armored up, in Christ we go,

To boldly stand, let all men know,

And let the Holy Spirit flow,

To stop the evil flood.

We say we will and that means now,

Rise up and fight, God shows us how,

And by the Spirit keep our vow,

We’ll make the devil run.

The wolf may be right at the door,

But shepherds will retreat no more,

In Jesus name as ne’er before,

Until the battle’s won.

“And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11, NIV)

It’s possible as a Christian to become spiritually dull. When this happens we are unaware of what is happening in the spiritual realm. We get distracted and caught up in the immediate, day to day activities. We do not think strategically, and as a result, we become vulnerable to the enemy’s attack. To steal, kill and destroy is the devil’s agenda. The war is won, but the battles are waging for the souls of men. As sons and daughters of righteousness we cannot afford to be asleep at the wheel as evil grows stronger and we get closer to Christ’s coming. If there ever was a time to stand up and share the love of God it is now. Don’t wait. Don’t put it off. Stand up now, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, help us to stand up now, in Jesus’ name.
