"Sanctified Mind"

Love the Lord with all your mind,

That’s what the Good Book taught,

All who do will surely find,

A new light in their thought.

By the Spirit and what’s true,

He changes how we think,

Our attitude and mind renew,

So we no longer sink,

Into the ruts that dumb us down,

Addictions that run deep,

He brings us out until we’ve found,

His promises He’ll keep.

And then we have the mind of Christ,

Each thought obeying Him,

Stopping satan’s master heist,

And setting free from sin.

The mental strongholds breaking,

That long have held us back,

From inside out we’re shaking,

And nothing will we lack.

So trust in Him with all your heart,

Leave your old thoughts behind,

You know the Lord will do His part,

To sanctify your mind.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NAS)

Sin is irrational and always has been. Why would the first couple trade the perfection of the garden for a bite from the forbidden fruit? Doesn’t make sense, does it? But we’ve been doing the same thing ever since. Disobedience to God erodes our humanity and dumbs us down intellectually. We become blinded to the most obvious things, and accept as true the most preposterous. Loving the Lord, with our minds means we trust Him to lead our lives and free us from our own stupidity. Trust Him, acknowledge Him, and don’t trust your own thoughts, and you will find the joy of being led by Him. He transforms our lives by renewing and minds, and we are empowered to think the thoughts of Jesus. Wise up.

Lord, help us to love You with our minds, in Jesus’ name.
