"See"
What we see remains to be,
Determined by His grace,
If pure the heart, that is the start,
To seek the Good Lord’s face.
The proud resisted, their motives twisted,
They’re called to humble down,
But if they don’t, swell up and won’t,
Sincerely come around,
God’s best deferred, their vision blurred,
Their ego blinds their eyes,
Some won’t repent, though promise sent,
That’s how we win God’s prize.
So stiff the neck, can cause a wreck,
Like God’s kids did back when,
They failed the test and missed God’s rest,
And could not enter in,
The Promised Land with blessings grand,
Was there just like He said,
But they missed out, their pride no doubt,
Ruled in their hearts instead.
So Jesus came to flip the game,
And offer life anew,
But still folks hide behind their pride,
Blinds them to what is true.
Paul said this, don’t dare dismiss,
His diagnosis strong,
This world’s god, the biggest fraud,
Has lied to them so long,
They cannot see, and blind to be,
Deceived by that old dog,
The blessed light beyond their sight,
Their minds just won’t defog.
But pray and tell, just ring the bell,
You never really know,
When planted seeds and human needs,
Break through and start to grow.
The farthest gone, and blinded long,
Can still be healed and see,
And that’s because there is no pause,
In His love for you and me.
“So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard the good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. So God set another time for entering His rest, and that time is today…” (Hebrews 4:6-7a, NLT)
The New Testament scriptures often use the children of Israel as examples of both faith and. unbelief. This is particularly true when the writer of Hebrews tells us that disobedience deprived the Israelites of the promised land and encourages us not to miss out on what God promises us through Jesus Christ. He refers to that blessing as God’s “rest,” and says we should be careful to receive and enter it. The life surrendered to Jesus is a rest from our sinful lives and, based upon the finished work of Christ, gives us entry into a Spirit-filled existence culminating in heaven. Those who spiritually blind cannot see it, but are forever grateful when their blindness is healed!
Lord, heal our blindness and give us Your blessing, in Jesus’ name.
