"Tell Them"

Is there a way to tell them,

So that they truly know,

The saving power of Jesus,

To them His freedom show.

It matters how you say it,

And live out what you say,

‘Cause some will find excuses,

They do it everyday.

Some folks insist just live it,

Actions show the way,

No need to speak about it,

And words are cheap they say.

It’s ‘cause you’ve got to mean it,

Not be a hypocrite,

And sermons are the loudest,

When your flame’s brightly lit.

But in the Holy Scriptures,

It says do more than that,

It calls for verbal witness,

Out loud is where it’s at.

So showing it AND speaking,

Both go hand in hand,

And when you came to Jesus,

Someone described the brand.

But how is just the best way,

To really get it done,

Perhaps just tell your story,

Of how you met the Son.

I think your testimony,

Shared honestly and real,

Will do the most for someone,

His Spirit they will feel.

And maybe God speaks through you,

To touch that person’s heart,

Because you showed and shared it,

You played a vital part.

“So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us…” (2 Cor. 5:20, NLT)

We represent Jesus. We are His advertisement in this world. Therefore we must walk the walk. But no one in his right mind would suggest that the best way to advertise anything is to simply set an example by using it. Nope! Words are used. People talk. They recommend a movie, restaurant, book they read, doctor that helped, etc., etc. What if all the commercials were silent? Could you figure out what they were selling? So much for the often proclaimed “I live my witness, and use words only when necessary.” Sounds good, but it’s not biblical. The Bible recognizes no witness that does not include a verbal testimony. Ours is a faith that requires it. If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth…This is not to guilt you into talking about Jesus. That never works! But if your faith is not something you talk about, it’s something that needs serious consideration and prayer. Why? You have a testimony and God is calling you to share it. You’ll be glad you did.

Lord, help us show and share Your love, in Jesus’ name.
