"There and Then"
A new heaven and a brand new earth,
The old will pass away,
God’s promise sure of endless worth,
And His eternal day.
Eyes can’t see nor can our ears,
Hear or mind conceive,
What God prepares to break our fears,
His truth we can believe.
The re-creation on the way,
No devil can withstand,
The chaos that had long held sway,
Will finally be banned.
No evil there, the wicked gone,
The curse cast out at last,
The grip that held out for so long,
Becomes our distant past.
No need for sun or moon or star,
Our God will be the light,
Whether near or distant far,
There will be no more night.
Every tear is wiped away,
All sorrow then relieved,
Death won’t have the final say,
So do not be deceived.
The Lord Almighty will be praised,
All glory to the Lamb,
The One who died forever raised,
And, yes, the great I am.
As glory rolls the Savior’s bride,
Adorned for endless love,
Forever wed and by His side,
Filled with glory from above.
“Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty- but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” (Revelation 21:27, NLT)
One day evil will be ended forever. Those who practice evil will be sentenced to eternal separation from God. Those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be ushered into an eternity of blessing with the Lord. We will be given this place, not because of our own merit or performance, but because we have received by faith what Jesus died to give us. Our names are written in His blood, and we are saved because of it. The relief of it all cannot be over-emphasized. All that happens in this life is about the next. Don’t miss God’s best.
Lord, help us prepare for an eternity in Your presence, in Jesus’ name.
