"Where Else?"

Where else can you find a people so kind,

Who see past the skin to the heart,

And equality, is God-given you see,

Folks find a new place to start.

Where else, but America…

Where can you pray with freedom to say,

Whatever it is you believe,

Have the right to bear arms against all alarms,

And earn the results you receive.

Where else, but America…

Where can you go and get in the flow,

Be an entrepreneur if you dream,

Where the law judges right, no matter your plight,

And a nation of laws is the theme.

Where else, but America…

Where can you live and thrive if you give,

Your best to the door open wide,

Lady Liberty’s cry, is to all who will try,

To claim their own self-worth and pride.

Where else, but America…

Where cay you be so wonderfully free,

The price paid by patriots’ blood,

Oh what a gift and with it we lift,

Our thanks overflows like a flood.

Where else, but America…

“What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people He has chose as His inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12, NLT)

Of course this promise was made to the nation of Israel. But Paul tells us in his second letter to the Corinthians that through Jesus Christ all the promises of God are delivered to us! Whereas Israel will always play a unique role in God’s economy, it is no stretch to believe this verse also applies to any nation who will honor God. And so America is uniquely blessed because its founders held to a biblical worldview. Their notion that people could govern themselves was based upon the radical idea that all men were created equal and endowed by their Creator with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It was Reagan who said if we ever fail to be one nation under God we will become a nation gone under. God bless America.

Lord, we give thanks for American and ask Your continued blessing, in Jesus’ name.
