"Pray"
When my need is greatest,
And my back’s against the wall,
And I’ve run plumb out of answers,
And I have no strength at all,
It’s then that this old cowboy,
Remembers God’s good Word,
That when I am in trouble,
No matter what’s occurred,
I can call upon my Father,
Come to His throne of grace,
Tell Him how I’m feeling,
And humbly seek His face.
And In the name of Jesus,
He gives me full access,
The shed blood is my ticket,
My promise to be blessed.
And I can tell Him anything,
Confess to Him my sins,
Intercede for everything,
My losses and my wins.
And He received me gladly,
Never hold me at arm’s length,
Has mercy on my weakness,
And fills me with His strength.
So don’t procrastinate your praying,
Make all your requests known,
Don’t forget to thank Him,
For all His kindness shown.
In fact the conversation,
Should never end, you see,
But a constant habit,
To make and keep you free.
The Ruler of the universe,
Has invited you to call,
Jesus is the only way,
The promise made to all.
For every human problem,
For the crisis, intercede,
Don’t hesitate, just do it,
God will supply your need.
“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:16, NLT)
When we need it most the Lord invites us to come. Often when we’re in a crisis, however, we feel unworthy or unfit to seek the Lord. We think we need to somehow “clean up our act” before we can call on Him, but this is not true. God invites us to come boldly in the name of Jesus, because of what Jesus has done, to make our requests known. Full access is His gift, and to ignore or trivialize it is at best unwise and at worst disastrous. Run to Him! He is our highest and best hope, no matter what is happening.
Lord, help us come quickly and boldly to You, in Jesus’ name.
