"Adventure"

For all those roamers, late-to-come homers,

And wanderlings out there,

All you free spirits, wind calls you hear it,

We have good news to share.

It’s God you seek so hear Him speak,

Don’t fear to call Him friend,

His love is great so do not wait,

From out there come on in.

And you will find He’s true and kind,

Your adventure is not through,

For with His grace and smiling face,

There’s so much more for you.

Rivers to cross and cares to toss,

And mountains high to scale,

Lives to change and plans long-range,

God’s winds will fill your sail.

Though you’ve been wild you are God’s child,

He loves the ones who run,

When turned you see it’s meant to be,

He redefines your fun.

Laughing loud the Jesus crowd,

We party people home,

Surprised by joy He will deploy,

And fill with His shalom.

Come on, let’s go and don’t be slow,

For high adventure waits,

We gallop on to the Spirit’s song,

With praise go through His gates.

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10, NLT)

Jesus contrasted His purpose with the purpose of the enemy. The devil steals, kills and destroys. He is in the business of de-creation though people are too deceived to see it. Jesus offers super-abundant life! If everyone understood this all would be saved. They obviously don’t and think that they will actually be giving up everything that matters to them if they follow Jesus. Religion has obscured abundant life and made people think that churchianity is the same as Christianity. Not true. When we surrender to Jesus the real party begins! This is the Good News we share so that in Christ we may become wild at heart indeed.

Lord, help us adventure with You, in Jesus’ name.
