"Out There"
If the road out there is graveled,
Then it will be less traveled,
And horses caught and saddled,
Out there might be the best,
Of ways to see creation,
A horseback real sensation,
Exceeds all expectation,
Like former times, I guess.
When more of us lived out there,
And not in city somewheres,
Crowded, concrete thoroughfares,
That hide what God has made.
We still need to feel it,
To know God who’ll reveal it,
And then our pain, He’ll heal it,
His presence will not fade.
It’s not praise for creation,
But for God’s imagination,
Amazing incarnation,
Of His power and His grace.
It’s obvious we need Him,
Then in the Book we read Him,
The Spirit has decreed Him,
One day we’ll see His face.
But in quiet space His presence,
Desert mountain effervescence,
And our full acquiescence,
Brings a clarity you see.
For Jesus lords creation,
And from every tribe and nation,
Out there our adoration,
Is what will always be.
“At just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. He alone can never die, and He lives in light so brilliant no human can approach Him. No human eye has ever seen Him, nor ever will. All honor and power to Him forever! Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15-16, NLT)
God is constantly revealing Himself. He does it through what He has created and ultimately through Jesus Christ. This ongoing revelation culminates when Jesus is revealed from heaven at His second coming. God is not approachable by human beings nor can He be seen with the human eye. But through Jesus we are redeemed and given full access. We see as He sees us and know as we are known. We will dwell with Him forever!
Lord, help us embrace the revelation of who You are, in Jesus’ name.
