"Big Love"

When you’re at your lowest,

In the depths of God knows what,

And you need Him more than ever,

His love is what you’ve got- big love.

When you’ve failed so much it sickens,

And your promises you broke,

You need the grace He died for,

And the love of which he spoke – big love.

When you’re sick in soul and body,

They can’t seem to find the cure,

And everything’s uncertain,

You need something that’s sure- big love.

Love’s dimension can’t be measured,

Depth, length and width and height,

But one thing is for certain,

It can heal and make you right- big love.

And when it’s revelation,

Comes coursing through your soul,

You’ll be filled with all God’s fullness,

The Spirit’s overflowing role, with big love.

This is love, He loved us,

Laid down His life for all,

And if you really listen,

You can hear big love’s great call- big love.

And then when you’ve received it,

Freely give like you’ve received,

It’s the reason for the big love,

To all who have believed.

By this will all men know you,

It’s just what Jesus said,

Show someone big love today,

It’s written clear in red.

“…may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:18-19, NAS)

The love Paul describes is unknowable, yet he prays they will know it. How? The Holy Spirit will come and in unmistakable ways, show the dimensions of God’s love. When this happens everything changes because we no longer see any relationship the same. All are an opportunity to show the love tat is too big to describe but is there nonetheless. Praise God for big love!

Lord, teach us to show big love, in Jesus’ name.
