"Blame Game"

The blame game is a real shame,

‘Cause no one really wins,

When even caught, you’re not at fault,

Or guilty of your sins.

It’s always them- that her or him,

Who caused it all you see,

A big excuse is what you’ll use,

And you are conscience-free.

But God has said, His Word we’ve read,

Your time will come, my friend,

And on that day, God will repay,

There’s justice in the end.

And God is fair, no misjudge there,

He’ll always get it right,

None can fake, there’s no mistake,

When all comes to the light.

The thing to do and this is true,

Is honestly admit,

The sin we’ve done, confess it, son,

And all that blaming quit.

And when we do, I’m telling you,

The grace is then released,

To clean us up and fill our cup,

Our lives the Lord to please.

Run to the light, give up the fight,

To hide, excuse, and lie,

No need to blame, escape your shame,

He’ll hear your humble cry.

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:8-9, NIV)

Secular culture has convinced us to constantly blame others and never take responsibility for our own actions. This is a serious, demonic deception which prevents people from receiving the grace offered through Jesus Christ. Why? Because in order to be forgiven for our sins we must confess our sins. And the word “confess” here simply means to agree. God shows us what we’ve done wrong and we call it what He does- nothing less and nothing else. Full confession brings full cleansing, and ultimately freedom.

Prayer: Lord, help us to honestly confess every sin to You, in Jesus’ name.
