"Devil, Run"
Old devil has a silver tongue,
But the Good Book says to make him run,
In Jesus’ name, the only One,
Who grants us victory.
Deliver us, He said to pray,
And to the mountain we can say,
Move from here you cannot stay,
Just take your stand and see.
As time gets short the darkness grows,
Some deceived, the Good Lord knows,
In darkest night the light sure glows,
And so it’s time to shine.
The lines are drawn with evil hate,
But Jesus never will be late,
We stand and point them to the gate,
And throw them a lifeline.
Snatching them from satan’s fire,
And God has given us desire,
To take the harvest, never tire,
In Jesus’ name we will.
No matter ‘bout our yesterday,
We’ll stand for Jesus come what may,
Until we finally hear Him say,
It’s death itself I’ll kill.
Then in glory see Him there,
Above all others, just and fair,
Rebel against Him if you dare,
But every knee will bow.
And all He gave salvation to,
Will rise in praise for lives made new,
He does just what He says He’ll do,
The Kingdom’s coming now.
“So humble yourselves before God. Resist he devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” (James 4:7-8, NLT)
Humility is when we intentionally seek to see ourselves the way God sees us. This requires honesty and transparency. If we consistently agree with God on His assessment of us, grace is released for every need and battle. Walking in agreement with the Lord is the key to winning the spiritual battle. When we receive God’s grace we can fight. Resisting the devil in the name and strength of Jesus makes him flee. And the more we press in to God the more God will make us actively aware of His presence. The darkness always runs from the light.
Lord, help us submit to You and resist the devil, in Jesus’ name.
