"Fight On"

The drumbeats of the devil’s hordes,

On wings of darkness fly,

Threatening all that is the Lord’s,

Or at least they try.

But we are stronger by His grace,

Than tongue or pen can tell,

And those who seek the Savior’s face,

Can send them straight to hell.

And all because God’s armor worn,

Can shield against attack,

And to the Lord of Hosts we’ve sworn,

That we will drive them back.

In Jesus’ name and for His fame,

By the Spirit we resist,

Breaking free from sin and shame,

The time has come for this.

The sons of men put him to flight,

They make the devil run,

Clothed with heaven’s holy light,

Until our battle’s won.

Rise up, church, and do your part,

To cast the devil out,

Because we love with all our heart,

And that’s what it’s about.

Fight on, brother, just fight on,

Until the fight is through,

One day death itself is done,

The Kingdom comes, it’s true.

“So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7, NLT)

Someone has said that we are able to exercise as much spiritual authority as we are willing to stand under. When we humble ourselves grace is released for whatever our need may be, including for the spiritual battle. It is this grace that puts the devil and his unclean spirits on the run. Resisting him and making him run is not promised to people with special gifts or calling. Anyone who humble themselves can win the fight. Get it done.

Prayer: Lord, help us put the devil on the run, in Jesus’ name.
