"God's Call"

I cannot count the stars above,

So many there, you see,

But the Savior in His love,

Put them there for me.

I cannot measure waterfalls,

A-flowing fresh and strong,

Far beyond all man-made walls,

But right where they belong,

Reminding of the grace that flows,

Descending down to me,

Sent by the only One who knows,

How to cleanse and free.

I cannot measure mountain peaks,

Heights towering to the sky,

Far horizons paint their reach,

Snow-covered way up high.

But higher still God’s glory,

Above the mountain range,

To communicate His story,

And bring God’s promised change.

The woodlands green and deserts stark,

Their beauty so unique,

God’s shining light drives out the dark,

Breath-taking is His reach.

The motion of the ocean waves,

Gulf thundering along,

The endless ways that Jesus saves,

And fills our hearts with song.

The creatures wild and those we trust,

That add life to our days,

The birds all singing ‘cause they must,

They praise in countless ways.

Look around don’t miss the beat

Of God’s heart for us all,

Every day without retreat,

You’ll hear Him clearly call.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20, NAS)
The good news is that the Creator of the universe wants to be known by us. He is the God who speaks, who reveals Himself constantly, and who passionately and faithfully calls us to Himself. The One who knows us best loves us the most and desires to have fellowship with us. His creation shouts it and the cross ultimately offers it. The bad news, if there is any, is that in the face of such clarity we are without excuse. God misjudges no one. If grace is refused judgment remains. Don’t miss it.

Lord, help us recognize and receive Your grace, in Jesus’ name.
