"Mighty Men"

Yesterday, so young and gay,

I didn’t have a clue,

How to act and that’s a fact,

‘Bout what a man should do,

Naive, I’m telling you…

But then I prayed, for grace that stayed,

The Lord sent mighty men,

Who’d fought the fight, and got it right,

To help me get free then,

Or at least begin…

To understand God’s mighty plan,

To set the captive free,

The strongholds break and finally take,

What the devil stole from me,

But not so easily…

Habits wrong I’d carried long,

And secrets by the score,

To walk me out, took time no doubt,

God graced me more and more,

To close temptations door…

Years now free, and don’t you see,

I’m sent when there’s a need,

For struggling men, who long have been,

Bound by lust and greed,

In Jesus’ name they’re freed…

Now hear this, and do not miss,

Deliverance is at hand,

Your time has come, to get this done,

And finally be a man,

And by God’s grace you can.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me- the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8, NLT)

Paul mentored Timothy faithfully, and finally reached the end of His journey triumphantly. Someone has said that no matter where, when or how you begin, what matters most is how you finish. Men who have found spiritual freedom are called to come alongside those who are struggling and help them find their strength and calling. Every stronghold, held in place by secrets, are broken in the light of God’s truth and faithfulness.

Lord, set Your men free, in Jesus’ name.
