"Names"

We read that He’s the Savior,

But until He saves your soul,

Changes your behavior,

Gives grace to make you whole,

It’s only just a title,

And a Sunday one at that,

Found there in the Bible,

Doesn’t change where you are at.

We say that He will heal you,

And we pray for all the sick,

But if it’s about to kill you,

And you need healing quick,

You find out where your faith is,

And if you do believe,

What you read there in the pages,

So that God’s help you receive.

God’s title is Supplier,

For every need there’s grace,

If you go through the fire,

And are searching for God’s face,

When all you have is Jesus,

You find He’s all you need,

And only He can free us,

To plant and harvest seed.

And finally He’s Baptizer,

With the Holy Ghost and fire,

Yes, He’s our Energizer,

With God’s empowering desire.

But until He fills us,

We miss out on this role,

Our selfishness will kill us,

If we stay lukewarm or cold.

The names of God are many,

Made real through Christ the Son,

But we won’t perceive any,

If from His plan we run.

So show us, Lord, Your power,

And fill us with Your grace,

Starting in this hour,

We need You for this life’s race.

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19, NLT)

Paul says God will supply every need we have, and this is possible through Jesus Christ. If we have Jesus we have everything because through Him God’s glorious riches are released. When you know this and accept it, life changes because you are secured by God’s provision. You know that, no matter what, the Lord will come through to faithfully give us what we need. It’s within reach and it’s all about faith.

Lord, supply us, in Jesus’ name.
