"One Way"

They say we’re narrow-minded,

When we tell them Christ’s the way,

Though Jesus made the claim Himself,

It’s what He had to say.

The way, the truth, and yes, the life,

No other name but His,

So it’s not about our attitude,

It’s just the way it is.

Or else reject God’s holy word,

And substitute your own,

It’s not a thing to later find,

When from this life you’ve flown.

One day every knee will bow,

All human tongues confess,

But we are called to do it now,

And how can we do less,

When Jesus gave His life for us,

Suffered, bled and died,

It was our sins that nailed Him there,

Why He was crucified.

It’s not we’re harsh or mean at heart,

We’re showered with His grace,

We only want the world to know,

That He grants all a space,

In heaven there with all the rest,

Who receive His wondrous gift,

Made clean by the blood He shed,

And from our death style lift.

The greatest news on earth, you see,

Is Jesus is the way,

Unearned favor promised strong,

These words we gladly say.

And all who call on Jesus’ name,

The Lord will surely heal,

The promise is for everyone,

There is no doubt it’s real.

And those whose no to God’s great gift

Will miss His grace you see,

His judgment will for all be fair,

For all eternity.

The Book says God’s unwilling,

For hell to be our fate,

But we must cling to God’s one way,

And there’s no need to wait.

Come to Jesus, come right now,

And never once look back,

Saved through faith in Jesus Christ,

And eternally on track.

“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6, NLT)

it’s one of the most powerful and, at the same time, hopeful things Jesus ever said. He did not point His disciples to a way, He pointed them to Himself. Nothing could be more important. If Jesus is the way to the Father, the human dilemma is solved for all time and eternity. If Jesus is just one of many ways, the confusion persists. Those who in the name of tolerance reject the clear claim of Jesus as the only way to the Father do so at their own peril. They are rejecting the one and only thing that can save, heal and deliver them. This is not about winning some real or imagined argument. This is about proclaiming an eternal truth based upon the clear record of what Jesus claimed to give us all. Choose wisely.

Lord, help us to recognize You as the way to the Father, in Jesus’ name.
