"Say When"
When the devil comes a-knockin’,
And your whole world is rockin’,
In Jesus’ name you’re lockin’,
That door he enters through.
And you decide to bind him,
In God’s name to remind him,
That you have now declined him,
He cannot get to you.
For greater is the Spirit,
It’s time for all to hear it,
There’s no need to fear it,
The greater One’s in you.
Than any roaring lion,
No matter that he’s tryin’,
His lie you ain’t buyin’,
The Spirit will come through.
So rise up for the battle,
And stand tall in the saddle,
And you will his cage rattle,
The victory is ours.
No matter if you’re weary,
Or tempted to get teary,
This ain’t some kind of theory,
His grace upon us showers.
“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4, NAS)
it’s something to always remember. The One who lives within us is greater and more powerful than anything we encounter on this earth. The Bible calls the devil a roaring lion who seeks someone to devour. Not to trivialize the threat in any way, but he can’t do anything if we resist him in Jesus’ name. If we resist him the Bible promises us he will flee. No temptation is irresistible. There is always a way of escape. The Spirit will help us find it if we cooperate with His leadership.
Lord, help us resist the devil, in Jesus’ name.
