"The Day"
The heat of day was scorchin’,
But it finally lost its hold,
The pastures it was torchin’,
Gave way to breezes bold,
Coming from the Brazos flowing,
Where the speckled fawns still play,
And all the wildlife knowing,
That the shadows long will stay.
As the night relates its sweetness,
To those who thirst for cool,
The cycle of completeness,
It’s sundown’s daily rule.
And in the ancient turning,
Of this world’s daily trip,
God’s faithfulness we’re learning,
In His graceful partnership.
To give to us His mercy,
To one and all His daily grace,
To calm our controversy,
By the smile upon His face.
Creation shows the wonder,
Of Creator’s presence here,
We’r3:22-243e thankful to be under,
The grace that’s always near.
“The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23, NAS)
Life unfolds one day at a time, and with it, God’s wonderful grace. We are given, on a daily basis, exactly what we need to survive and thrive. God continually shows us His faithfulness, and never disappoints us. Just as daylight and dark mark each twenty-four hour period, God’s presence is always there to provide for us what we need. It is truly His goodness that leads us to repentance. When we learn to cooperate with God’s grace life is filled with His power and purpose.
Lord, teach us Your faithfulness, in Jesus’ name.
