"Promise"

When it seems impossible,

Don’t ever give up hope,

Thought it feels improbable,

There’s always grace to cope.

And keep on putting all your trust,

In what the Good Lord says,

For any peace it is a must,

For all who know they’re His.

Standing on the promises,

Is just the way to stand,

Don’t need no doubting Thomases, 

To get what God has planned.

More than all we think or ask,

Is what the Lord will do,

Power and strength for every task,

Joy overflowing, too.

So don’t give up and don’t give in,

The Lord will bring you through,

Jesus died so we can win,

He promised me and you.

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more that we might ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:20, NLT)

God’s power is at work in and through us even when we cannot feel or see it. It’s true that His ever-present, indwelling Spirit invisibly anoints every circumstance and relationship for His glory and our good. Paul reminds us that He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we can ever ask or imagine. What a great thing to remember, especially in trying times. Trust Him. Believe the promises. Keep on, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, help us trust You to do more than we ask or think, in Jesus’ name.
