"Tragedy"

For some it’s worse than others,

Tragic push to shovers,

People lose the things they love the most.

Especially their loved ones,

Good-byes and tears and then some,

Not sure they can drink this bitter dose.

The questions overwhelm ‘em,

And none can really tell ‘em.

Why this heartbreak happened when it did.

But the rest are praying,

And to the Good Lord saying,

Help every person- woman, man and kid.

We pray for them the healing,

Can’t imagine how they’re feeling,

Pray God above will meet their every need.

And we say we will help, too,

With anything we can do,

And send relief as fast we can speed.

“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16, NAS)

We don’t understand everything that happens, especially when natural disasters take the lives of people. The people in south Texas are suffering great loss right now because of the flooding. We want to help them any way we can. But the best and most important thing right now is to pray. Why? Because ultimately only God can help people who go through this kind of tragedy. We know why some things happen, but not always. And they will never get over it. They will get through it by the grace of God. And that’s why we need to intercede for them and pray they find it.

Lord, help those who have suffered tragedy, in Jesus’ name.
