"Truth"
Someone said it was their truth,
But they believed a lie,
Been deceived since early youth,
It makes you wonder why,
They’ll buy some notion that is wrong,
And reject what God has said,
Deeply trying to belong,
But reject the words in red.
We don’t judge but then in love,
We offer them what’s true,
Faithful to our God above,
It’s what He call us to.
But we should never think that we,
Are better than all these,
In fact His mercy helps us see,
It’s by grace if you please.
Pray and work and show the way,
We never write them off,
Until we reach our final day,
And God takes us aloft.
But until then we pray the light,
Will dawn upon their hearts,
Drive out the darkness, make them right,
And help us do our parts.
“…in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4, NAS)
Paul refers to the devil as the “god of this world.” This means he is the spiritual mastermind behind this world secular, godless, idolatrous system. His greatest weapon is deception, that is, convincing people to believe a lie rather than the ruth about Jesus Christ. They are blinded by him, and only the light of God’s word accompanied by the Holy Spirit can pierce their darkness. Until then we love them, pray for them, show them by example what it means to know Christ, and talk to them about it when God gives us the opportunity. But remember, only the truth can set them free, and not until they are ready to accept it.
Lord, help us love those who are still deceived by the god of this world, in Jesus’ name.
