"Home"
Coming home to Jesus,
Is the best thing we can do,
And every step He sees us,
Gives us grace to get us through.
Coming home to fellowship,
To the born again below,
Is right as rain when we are led,
And a must if we’re to grow.
Coming home to those we love,
To spouse and family,
Is a refuge from this world,
And where we want to be.
Coming home to our own dirt,
Where we’ve worked and built a place,
To rest and welcome others,
And find a slowed down pace.
Coming home to heaven,
Will be the last reward,
Where every tear is wiped away,
The goal we’re moving toward.
Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam,
Open wide Thine arms of love,
Lord, I’m coming home.
“Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.” (Ephesians 1:4, NLT)
How long has God loved us? The Bible says here He loved us even before the world existed. This is only possible with an eternal Father whose love always goes before any response on our part. Some insist God has chosen some and not others. But Jesus died for everyone, even those who reject Him. So the truth is that God chooses all in Christ, but our cooperation is still required. If we refuse His love we are saying no to the One who has been saying yes to us for all eternity past. If we say yes to Him our eternal future is assured. Choose wisely.
Lord, help us to come home to You, in Jesus’ name.
