"Answers"

The answers to life’s questions,

Are not always so clear,

And when we go through trials,

Faith can give way to fear.

And when there is anxiety,

With it comes the stress,

Of all the things we can’t control,

And in our minds a mess.

And when it gets the darkest,

And hope is stretched way thin,

It’s then the Holy Spirit,

Renews our hearts again.

He comes with love and power,

To lead us safely on,

Gives to us new courage,

And shows us we belong,

To the future God lays out for us,

To His purpose, peace and plan,

And by His grace we rise up,

In His light we stand.

And what we learned with hopelessness,

Is truth we’ll always know,

Jesus drives out all our fear,

As His Spirit to us shows.

“God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7, NAS)

Everyone goes through difficult time, even those who are closest to the Lord. Sometimes these challenges become so great that our faith wanes and we feel overwhelmed by anxiety, fear and worry. We know we should trust God, but we just can make our minds and emotions line up with what we know is true. That’s when the Holy Spirit’s presence means the most. The answer is not in the particular issues we seek. The answer is in His presence. The Spirit with and in us bring power, love and discipline to our souls. It is His presence that gives us perspective and leadership through the worst crises. Praise the Lord.

Lord, we ask for power, love and discipline, in Jesus’ name.
