"God's Men"

The good ones you can count upon,

Always riding for the brand,

And once they get that saddle on,

They’re bound to make a stand,

‘Longside those who by the Book,

And Spirit-filled they go,

Have the character and look,

By God to clearly show,

That this world’s not their home at all,

They gather through this earth,

Answering the Savior’s call,

Proclaim the sinner’s worth.

And every heartbeat every day,

Takes them closer to the end,

Whey they will put their spurs away,

And say good-bye, my friend.

Ambassadors and cowboys all,

For the Kingdom yet unseen,

To lift up every one that falls,

‘Cause that’s where they have been.

Fiercely humble, filled with grace,

Known for their loyalty,

Running hard to win the race,

The way God’s men should be.

“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14, NAS)

Where are the protectors? Where are the men who will stand up and be counted as men of God above all else? We can look back to the scriptures and down through the history of the church and see how the Lord raised up men who would pray, sacrifice, lead, and battle evil. This is the great need of our day and God is doing it right now! Men of all ages are turning to the Lord and seeking His face. Tired of posers and pretenders they seek the real deal spiritually. They love the church but not what it has become, so sometimes they are not well-received by status quo Christians. But it really doesn’t matter. The Spirit will use them as He sees fit. The army is awakening.

Lord, raise us up, in Jesus’ name.
