"In God We Trust"

A gradual erosion,

Of what we know is right,

The creeping of the darkness,

Replacing holy light.

And somehow as a people,

We looked the other way,

Forgot to pay attention,

And things just went astray.

And now there aren’t two genders,

But a long, long list it seems,

And marriage has been redefined,

By someone’s perverse dreams.

Lawlessness, entitlement,

Revision of our history,

Socialism, communism,

And here’s the greatest mystery,

How in just a few short years,

Apostasy took hold,

Of every institution,

And if the truth be told,

Even in the church house,

The drift became a flood,

And now in many places,

There’s no mention of the Blood.

Rise up, O Church, and do your part,

To call us back to God,

Let revival fires burn,

Where evil runs roughshod.

Send it, Lord, and send it now,

Let it begin with us,

Turn us from sin and let You in,

Once more, in God we trust.

“And He gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’ So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and He will flee from you.” (James 4:6-7, NLT)

God is the author and generous giver of grace. What type of grace? Whatever type of grace we need is what He offers- saving, healing, sustaining, strengthening- everything! But the grace we need is triggered by one thing, nothing less and nothing else. That one thing is humility, which is simply seeing ourselves the way God sees us and agreeing with it. When that grace is released the devil runs. And that’s what is needed in this nation and our lives. May the grace flow now, in Jesus’. name.

Lord, help us to humble ourselves, in Jesus’ name.
