"Lift Him High"

Long ago I saw the draw,

Of Jesus lifted high,

Human methods can’t unthaw,

Hearts held by satan’s lie.

But God anoints us if we point,

To Jesus Christ the way,

And He will never disappoint,

If they call on Him today.

Being wise in all our tries,

To lead them to salvation,

But the Spirit will surprise,

To make Christ their foundation.

It’s faith for now and death somehow,

No longer holds its sting,

If to Jesus we will bow,

Confess Him as our king.

And the process we express,

To all with ears to hear,

If they receive the Savior’s yes,

When God’s love is made clear.

So lift Him high and don’t be shy,

The good news share with all,

The Spirit will God’s grace apply,

To everyone who calls.

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.” (John 12:32, NASB)

Jesus said that if He was lifted up He will draw everyone to Himself. It is forever true. The focus of who we are, how we live, and what we say is Jesus Christ. When we truly know Him we will make Him known, and the Spirit will empower us to do so. Using wisdom to connect with people, becoming all things to all men so as to win some, and speaking truth in love all have their place. But in the ultimate sense if we faithfully lift Him Jesus He will do the rest that is needed. He does the eternal work that He alone can do. We partner with Him by faithfully lifting Him up.

Lord, help us lift You up, in Jesus’ name.
