"Prayer"
O Lord, we pray in Jesus’ name,
For those who gather here,
Your men who come for fellowship,
Please help us to draw near,
To You and all You call us to,
Find our identity,
Based on Your word that tells us so,
Leads to our destiny.
Freed from strongholds’ devilish grip,
That have plagued our lives so long,
Broken by the Spirit’s sword,
And shows us we belong,
With all whom Jesus has set free,
We gladly bear the cross,
Surrendering our everything,
Thank God, no longer lost.
Rising to our purpose strong,
We put our armor on,
Fighting darkness by the blood,
Unclean spirits must be gone.
And only in His presence real,
We overcome each test,
More than all we think and feel,
His highest and His best.
Iron sharpens iron they say,
And that is why we’re here,
Trusting God to have His way,
With all who we hold dear.
We draw the line in Jesus’ name,
We stand with holy strength,
Filled with love that has no end,
Can’t know its width or length.
But by the Spirit what we know,
Is what He says and shows,
And we will spread the living word,
As His great army goes.
“I urge you , first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; interced on their behalf, and give thanks for them.” (! Timothy 2:1, NLT)
Prayer is both the great honor and responsibility of every child of God. We have full acess to the Creator of the universe in Jesus’ name, and can approach as our heavenly Father and Daddy. He invites us to pray for people, those who are unsaved who need salvation, and those who are saved and need to grow more Christlike. It’s all part of the way we partner with God to extend His Kingdom in the lives of people. When we pray in faith we are offering God an avenue in which to perform miracles. He is sovereign but He invites us to intercede and witness His goodness in answer to prayer.
Lord, teach us to consistently pray for one another, in Jesus’ name.
