"Spirit-Led"

Sometimes I think I’ve been there,

A place I’ve never been,

It could be just a nowhere,

But somehow feel akin,

To the place where I am standing,

Could be desert, mountain, shore,

As if it is demanding,

That I understand it more.

And then I sense the Spirit,

In that place that feels to me,

Like a welcome, I can hear it,

Feel God’s presence, don’t you see.

And since He’s there before us,

And with us when we go,

He will not ignore us,

But will always let us know,

That He will not forsake us,

And with Him we will abide,

The devil cannot take us,

God is right here by our side.

We belong right where He’s leading,

He leads where we belong,

Give grace for all we’re needing,

And with Him we can’t go wrong.

He was with me in the valley,

In the low times I have had,

And with ever grand finale,

When He freed me from the sad.

On the mountaintop He said it,

Can’t stay here where air is thin,

On steep trails I still read it,

He will lead and bring us in.

In both strange and cozy places,

If I took time to think and pray,

I could always count on graces,

That came to me everyday.

Don’t fear what next is coming,

Or the place that calls for you,

Flags unfurled and drummers drumming,

Speaking all that’s tried and true.

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” (Romans 8:14, NLT)

Who is in the lead? As children of God it’s our desire to be led by the Spirit. Being Spirit-led means that we intentionally decide against our own selfish egos and seek to glorify Christ. If that is our sincere desire nothing can stop us. Be Spirit-led.

Lord, lead us by Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
